Diana Whitney and Amanda Trosten-Bloom led this special offering for AI
consultants to learn to apply Appreciative Inquiry to large system
organization change for accelerated and substantiated business results.
Additional ways to apply the 4-D process, creating new applications by
building on the experience and engagements represented in the room were
explored. Participants left the workshop with a heightened ability to
apply AI theory, an enhanced capacity to design and lead whole system
AI initiatives, and a deeper understanding of Social Construction
theory as the intellectual foundation of AI. Dr. Kenneth Gergen,
Professor of Psychology at Swarthmore College, and a leading scholar in
Social Construction, was a guest speaker and provided perspective on
the theoretical foundations of AI. Dr. Gergen is one of the founding
members of The Taos Institute, along with Diana Whitney, David
Cooperrider and others.
