Celiane Camargo Borges, Ph.D. is a psychologist specializing in constructionist practices in public health.  She is currently teaching Social Constructionism to students attending a international masters program atNHTV Breda University of Applied Science (www.nhtv.nl), a university in the south of the Netherlands. She is bringing social constructionism as the philosophical background of the masters program and is in charge of creating a research group and insert this subject into the classes and workshops.

Her other research and practice focuses on community and group interaction within a healthcare context.  She is interested in how relational forms of practice might create more effective means of maintaining health and preventing illness in communities.  And, her work also focuses on how community members can inform and improve healthcare practices through dialogic relations with healthcare professionals.  Her Ph.D. is from her native Brazil (University of Sao Paulo) with Sheila McNamee, from the University of New Hampshire as her co-advisor.  She spent one year working on issues of dialogue and healthcare at the University of New Hampshire while completing her doctoral dissertation.  She has also lived and worked in London and Taipei.  She has published several articles focused on dialogic practices in communities as well as articles on qualitative research in public health.  She has also published on the topic of group practice within healthcare settings.  She is currently living in Amsterdam.
