Creating Promising Futures Through Social Construction
The Taos Institute is a community of scholars and practitioners concerned with the social processes essential for the construction of reason, knowledge, and human value. The Institute is a non-profit (501-c3) educational organization committed to exploring, developing and disseminating ideas and practices that promote creative, appreciative and collaborative processes in families, communities and organizations around the world. Educational programs include conferences, workshops, publications, a PhD program, a distance learning program, newsletters, and web-based offerings. The Institute makes important scholarly available to practitioners in public and private organizations, mental health, social work, counseling, education, community building, gerontology and medicine. Taos Institute Europe (www.taosinstituteeurope.net), a satellite of the Taos Institute, now facilitates initiatives tailored to the European context.
Partnerships are essential to our program. Our partnership with the Professional Development Foundation (www.pdf.net) has provided the opportunity to offer online participatory education in cutting-edge theory and practice to the leaders of today and tomorrow. Participating partners also include prominent scholars and organizational development specialists from around the world. To further the possibility for hands-on education, we also develop partnerships with leadership training programs.
The Professional Development Foundation is a non-profit network of practitioners and scholars, founded in 1975 (incorporated in 1988) and an accredited institute. Through PDF.NET they design, develop and run programs in a number of areas of professional development. These are validated and quality approved by Middlesex University.
PDF.NET also partners with leading institutions to create innovative approaches to emerging areas of professional practice. Where they do so, as in the case of the partnership with the Taos Institute, they combine their experience to create original programs intended to co-construct change processes. They partner to share experience, but all programs are run under the auspices of PDF.NET and assessed by PDF.NET in accordance with the validation requirements of Middlesex University. This ensures participants take part in innovative programs that remain quality assured.
The programme on Relational Leading is delivered and assessed by the Taos Institute in collaboration with PDF.NET, and the degree is awarded by and quality assured by Middlesex University.
