Professor Scherto Gill is Director of Global Humanity for Peace Institute, University of Wales Trinity St David. She is also Senior Fellow at the Guerrand-Hermès Foundation for Peace, and Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA). Scherto leads a UNESCO Initiative on Collective Healing and Educational Transformation, and chairs the G20 Interfaith Forum‘s Education Working Group. 

Scherto’s research interests centre on understanding peace, human well-being and flourishing as holistic and dynamic processes. The key concepts she is developing include human-centred education, positive peace, deep dialogue, ecology of well-being, and global governance. Through research and project work, she has been actively exploring ways to apply these concepts and ideas in educational innovation, peacebuilding, and social transformation.

Scherto has published extensively in the fields of education and peace, including Lest We Lose Love (forthcoming, Anthem Press), Beyond the Tyranny of Testing: Relational Evaluation in Education (Oxford University Press), Ethical Education: Towards An Ecology of Human Development (Cambridge University Press), Understanding Peace Holistically (Peter Lang) and Education as Humanisation (Routledge). Click here to see a list of her books.
