We are excitement about the 2012 Taos conference: Exploring Relational Practices in Peacebuilding, Mediation and Conflict Transformation. This international conference will be held in San Diego, California, November 14-17, 2012. As social inequality, violence, community conflict, environmental demise, political unrest, terrorism, and general global unease proliferate, it becomes increasingly important for us to share and expand our relational resources so that we might contribute to peace building opportunities among people, communities, and nations.

Through the lens of social construction, we will bring together practitioners, academics and community members to share and create new forms of practice related to relational, collaborative, and appreciative practices for peacebuilding, conflict transformation and mediation in families, organizations, communities, and the world.

We invite you to join this effort as a “Sponsor.” Your support as a Sponsor would enable us to reach out to people and groups both local and from around the world who might not have the financial means to be able to attend an event like this. Further, your support would contribute to the visibility of the event.

And of course, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to promote your organization and the wonderful work you do to transform conflict and bring about peace that fosters positive, appreciative and collaborative relations among individuals, families, communities, nations and the world.

We view Exploring Relational Practices in Peacebuilding, Mediation and Conflict Transformation: From the Intimate to the International as a mutual learning event with enormous potential for the future. Collaborative, relational, appreciative and constructionist ideas now move across domains of practice. New ideas and practices in conflict transformation emerge every day. This conference will provide a major means of sharing these ideas and practices across borders – of schools of thought, of professional life, and of nations. Our hope is not only for mutual illumination, but for fostering new collaborative relationships, and an unleashing of creative potentials. Ultimately we hope that our collective efforts will contribute to creating life-giving and peaceable relationships in families, communities, schools, organizations, and the world.
