LEARNING
Social
Construction, Relational Theory and Practices
October 5-6, 2005, 9am - 5pm
Sagebrush Inn, Taos, New Mexico
Presented by Harlene Anderson, Ph.D. and Sheila
McNamee, Ph.D.
Harlene and Sheila invite you to join them in
enchanting Taos for an intimate two-day workshop.
Bringing their breadth of experiences together,
the workshop will introduce social constructionism
and relational practices for those new to it and
will help those familiar with it to deepen their
understandings and practices. Additionally, focus
will be on the numerous practical applications
in organizations, therapy, education, and community
development. Special topics include language and
meaning-making, polyvocality, transforming dialogue,
and appreciative perspectives. Participants will
learn how social reality is constructed in language
and the implications of this for our understandings,
knowledge, and practices. Participants with a
background in social construction will have an
opportunity to explore issues of special relevance
to their projects and practices.
