William (Bill) Randall, EdD, is retired Professor of Gerontology at St. Thomas University, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, where he also served as Director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Narrative (www.stu.ca/stu/sites/cirn). A native of rural New Brunswick and a former minister with the United Church of Canada, he was educated at Harvard College, Cambridge University, Princeton Seminary, and the University of Toronto. With Gary Kenyon and others, he has played a role in developing a field known as Narrative Gerontology. He has over 70 publications on this and related topics, including 9 books. A former minister with the United Church of Canada (1979-1990), Bill has become especially interested in late life spiritual development and the power of “narrative care” in promoting it.
