Francis Akena Adyanga is an Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Education at Kabale University, Uganda. Francis obtained a PhD from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) University of Toronto in 2014. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the College of Education University of South Africa (UNISA) from 2016 to 2017. He is a scholar with vested teaching and research interests in Indigenous Knowledge, education for sustainable development, equity and diversity in education, inclusive education, education in emergencies and post emergencies contexts. Francis is also a Research Fellow at the College of Education, UNISA. He has authored several articles, book chapters and edited books which have been widely cited in the last 10 years. He teaches courses such as sociology of education, academic writing and publishing skills, education technology, education development and internationalization, qualitative research methods, and sociology of gender, among others. He has been a speaker at several international conferences such as the African Union Conference on Education in Gaborone, Botswana, 2019; International Science Council (ISC) global knowledge dialogue in Cape Town, South Africa, 2022; ISC mid-term review meeting in Paris, France, 2023; ISC global knowledge dialogue in Muscat, Oman, 2025 etc.
