As an ethnographer, she has engaged with the lives and works of migrant labourers very closely observing their angst of “rootlessness” among often-hostile host culture. She learned through empathic understanding what it takes to work hard toward earning one’s livelihood while going through feelings of alienation and prejudice. Her methodological contributions for interdisciplinary psychology include important insights she has developed about the social suffering and healing among the some of marginalized communities in India. She continues to strive to create more humanizing spaces through her researcher endeavours to foreground the voices of the marginalized communities. lo live by.
