Applying to be an Associate in the Taos Institute
The Taos Institute accepts applications for membership as an Associate in the Institute. Our mission is to bring together scholars and practitioners concerned with the social processes essential for the construction of reason, knowledge, and human value, and their application in relational, appreciative, and collaborative practices around the world.
Is This for You?
Associates are the lifeblood of the Institute. They bring ideas, practices, ideals, and enthusiasms into the common spaces provided by the Institute, and here we learn from each other, inspire each other, and create paths toward more promising futures. If you are interested in participating as an Associate, we recommend that you scroll through the pages of the Institute website (www.taosinstitute.net). There you will learn more about our mission, our history, our many activities, and our Associates from around the world. While browsing, ask yourself whether your own ideas and activities are also a congenial mix with the social constructionist orientation central to the Taos Institute’s initiatives. Also explore the Taos Institute Commons (www.taosinstitutecommons.com), a free online community set aside for events, announcements, interest groups, postings, a resource library, and more.

In Latin America (TILAC), in Europe (TIE), and in Japan (TIJ), Associates participate in network activities specific to these regions. You could also use the Taos non-profit umbrella to apply for foundation support, or join with other Associates in consulting work. The Taos Board of Directors is also open to ideas developed by Associates for interesting and productive activities for the future. We encourage bold fantasies, and hope that together we could make some of them come true.
It is important to note that there are no dues or fees for being an Associate. However, financial support is needed to fund the organization and its activities. We do rely on Associates to periodically make voluntary donations to the Institute according to their means.
To Apply:
Applications can be made by filling out the Taos Associate Application Form. Decisions are made by the Institute’s Board of Directors, usually within six weeks following submission.
