Neftalis is a psychologist with training and experience in teaching, research, and clinical practice. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters at Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (FFCLRP-USP), a Master’s degree from the Institute of Psychology at the Federal University of Uberlândia (IP-UFU), and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM). She specialized in Narrative Practices through the University of Extremadura (Spain), in partnership with the Spanish Association of Narrative Therapy (AETEN), with additional training in Contemporary Narrative Therapy from Instituto Encuentros Prácticas Narrativas in collaboration with Winnipeg Narrative Therapy.
Neftali works at the intersection of mental health, collaborative, and narrative practices, focusing on interventions that foster autonomy and social transformation. She served as a substitute professor at UFU, teaching courses such as Clinical and Social Psychology, supervising academic internships, and participating in university extension projects aimed at health promotion and inclusion. In clinical practice, she has experience with individual and group therapy, emphasizing narrative approaches to address issues related to chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and sexuality.
As a researcher, she is a member of the Research Laboratory on Dialogic and Collaborative Practices (Dialog/USP), developing projects that explore the potential of narrative practices in community and clinical contexts. She is the author of articles published in national and international journals, has also contributed to scientific events with presentations and courses on topics and practices aligned with Narrative Practices and Social Constructionism.
