Maritza was born in Guayaquil and lived her childhood in Bolivia. Currently, she lives in Quito – Ecuador. She is a social communicator who graduated from the Central University of Ecuador, a clinical psychologist from the Pontificial Catholic University of Ecuador, and has two master’s degrees: in Organizational Leadership, from the Eastern University of Pennsylvania in the United States and in Collaborative-Dialogic Practices, from the Kanankil Institute of Mexico.

In 2018, she co-founded the Relational and Social Constructionist Consortium of Ecuador -IRYSE- and publishes every 15 days on the iryse.org blog topics of dissemination, reflection, and theoretical contribution on relational social constructionism, psychotherapy, research, education, communication, art and literature among others.

Maritza is a professional with extensive experience in the administration and management of social projects and the coordination and management of multidisciplinary technical teams. She has collaborated in various organizations, national and international, of the State, international cooperation, and non-governmental in Ecuador and Latin America, linked to social and community development, the human rights of children, gender, psychology, and education.

She has been part of and directed technical teams for work in local communities to promote the exercise of rights and the culture of peace and has extensive experience in conflict mediation-management and the implementation of research and training processes for audiences as varied as young people, teachers, indigenous leaders, women, community actors, etc.

She is currently a university professor in the Faculty of Psychology at the Central University of Ecuador and an e-learning trainer, consultant, and psychotherapist. She writes and builds materials and resources with a social-constructionist relational, pedagogical, intercultural, intergenerational, and gender approach.

In clinical practice, she works in co-therapy, private practice, clinical supervision, intervision, and multi-vision processes.

She is a feminist who loves cinema, literature and rock.
