Cherrie trained as a psychiatric nurse in the University of Hertfordshire program and holds an RMN registration. She then went on to read for a doctorate at University of Bedfordshire, with a focus on what creates clinical learning environment from a psychiatric nursing perspective. Cherrie has a wealth of experience in CAMHS which includes tier four inpatient, Community CAMHS, Specialists CAMHS services to include Eating Disorder, Looked after Children, Adolescent and Family Drug and Alcohol Services and Medium and low secure services.

She has a great passion for working in CAMHS and with nurses and has written and published a book on nurses experience of what is needed to create clinical Learning environment within inpatient psychiatric wards. Cherrie also has a lot of experience in working with adults who are experiencing mental health difficulties in a number of inpatient ward settings. She has a recovery based approach to care and treatment. Cherrie is also a UKCP registered Family Therapist with her own private practice. Cherrie has extensive international experience in supervising and mentoring psychiatric nurses, also in consulting with managers and teachers in a variety of circumstances and settings, including secure services, acute adult mental health services, and specialized mental health services, infant, primary and secondary schools. Cherrie’s experience is within the NHS and the Independent Sector.
