About the course:
Relational theory now provides cutting edge ideas relevant to practices across the professions. This 6-week online course introduces common premises and orienting ideas central to relational theory. The course consists of six modules with online conference meetings, readings, videos and online dialogues.

There will be six “live” conference calls for this course held on Mondays from 12:00 noon – 1:30 PM New York time/eastern US time. (Check your own local time.)

On the first call the conceptual framework of relational theory will be developed. This will be followed by five additional conference calls to explore the material from each module. During the week, participants will be asked to do the weekly reading, watch relevant videos, and connect with their inquiry partner/s for that week. Participants should plan to devote at least 5 hours each week on this course.

Testimonials:

“Gergen’s valuable reflections at each meeting were enlightening as was the discussion between the participants.”

“The course content allowed me to understand concepts in more depth. I had certain ideas from reading each chapter but the opportunity to discuss this on the online platform or in class or with a learning partner or to hear Ken speak directly to each chapter(s) was so helpful to really start to understand the material. I think I could still benefit from reading it all again though!!”

“I think technology has allowed more participants from all over the world to participate, and that’s great.”

“It was one of the most fascinating and enlightening courses of my life. I consider the book “Relational Being” a revolutionary text. So is the relational perspective. Everything is relationship.”

“I continue to follow all the Taos courses, it is a community that I have only just met but that I love so much, I love constructionism and all the people who through Taos build possibilities, ideas, projects, reflections, worlds!”

“It is my second course at Taos, and every time, they have a capacity to generate useful reflections for our profession or research practice. I love social constructionism and the relational perspective, and I think that if each of us would move according to the relational perspective we can build better and more inclusive relationships.”

“This has been such a wonderful experience. Thanks everyone for a great group collaboration. It was amazing to share ideas, questions and enhance curiosity through Ken and Celiane’s dialogue with everyone.”
