Margaret Slaska is Program Director and Lecturer for the Hybrid-Online Graduate Program in Education-Counseling at San Diego State University. She also teaches with the Dept of Women’s Studies and Weber Honor’s College. She completed her Ph.D. through the Taos program at Vrije University Brussels, Belgium. She completed a master’s degree in Women’s Studies and later a master’s degree in Counselling, Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University. Her doctoral research examined cultural discourses of trauma and resiliency, narrative therapy, relationship violence and sexual assault advocacy and activism, feminist intersectionality, and social justice.
She has worked in the relationship violence and sexual assault victim advocacy field and is currently focused on developing social constructionist counseling practices with the local LGBTQ+ community in San Diego.
