Jill Freedman, MSW, is Director of Evanston Family Therapy Center and a faculty member of the Chicago Center for Family Health. She is an AAMFT-approved supervisor, and an internationally acclaimed author and teacher of Narrative Therapy. She has a clinical practice in the Chicago area and consults to programs for people with HIV and to schools.

Jill is continually invited to present at national and international conferences. They have led workshops on various aspects of narrative therapy all over the world. Jill and Gene are known and respected for their warm, relaxed, and inspiring style, as well as for the way that they embody the ideas they teach. Their extensive writings include Symbol, Story, and Ceremony: Using metaphor in individual and family therapy, and Narrative Therapy: The social construction of preferred realities, which were both chosen by Behavioral Science Book Service as Main Selections. Their third book, Narrative Therapy With Couples. . . and a Whole Lot More! was recently published by Dulwich Centre Publications of Adelaide, Australia.

Jill and Gene are the proud parents of Lily Freedman, a seventh-grader at Nichols Middle School in Evanston, and a USFSA figure skater at Robert Crown Community Center. As a family, they like to read, travel, and play with friends.
