Dr. Joaquín Gaete Silva is a Chilean Reg. Psychologist who works as a Clinical Supervisor, Director of a Clinical Centre (CEAP), and an Associate Professor of the School of Psychology at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago.  Taking an integrative, constructionist, and discursive-informed approach, his teaching activities mostly relates to the field of (psycho)therapy.  He is interested in therapeutic change processes research, understood as conversational work constructive of preferred ways of being and relating. His research has focused on conversational practices fostering self-preferred change in counselling, family therapy, and clinical supervision. After working at the Calgary Family Therapy Centre, he also has been working on expanding Karl Tomm and colleagues’ (2014) interpersonal approach to therapy. He is interested in articulating what can be conversationally accomplished by engaging in Transforming Interpersonal Patterns (TIPs). In particular, he is focusing on TIPs which may open up healing and more socially just pathways on issues usually described as “disruptive behavior” (e.g., ADHD) in childhood and adolescence.
