Mikkel Thøgersen has worked for more than 20 years as a management consultant and for more than 10 years as a leader. Following his master in Political Science from the University of Aarhus he has worked for many years as an evaluator of public policies. His major professional field are the welfare domains in public policy. He has a lot of experience with migration, e.g. integration of bilingual school children, language programmes for refugees etc. which have been a main theme throughout Mikkel’s career. In addition, Mikkel has broad experience working across the educational sector, as well as with projects related to the labor market. Mikkel has also been working with urban planning.
He gradually shifted focus from traditional analysis to more participatory approaches, process facilitation, co-creation and how reports can be regarded as interventions in themselves. In 2014 his professional responsibilities changed as he joined Attractor (a part of Ramboll) as a leader working with organizational change, leadership development, coaching and competence development.
With more than 20 years as a consultant, Mikkel Thøgersen has extensive knowledge of the management and administrative relationship between the national government and the municipalities and works as a strategic advisor in this area. In his advisory capacity, he is able to draw on his own experience in leadership, first as department manager in 2007 and later as director since 2012. He is particularly interested in the balance between working as an expert advisor and the role of the organizational facilitator trying to involve, investigate new perspectives and empowering the involved stakeholders.
Currently he is back at the evaluation and implementation domain responsible for a global division in Ramboll working with sustainable society consultancy. He is a certified systemic coach and uses systemic and social constructionist ideas in his everyday organizational tasks – both in his own organization and in the dialogue with customers.
