Amanda Middleton is a Systemic and Family Psychotherapist, Supervisor and trainer with a particular focus on genders and sexualities. She is a Clinical Associate at The Pink Practice where she works therapeutically with families, couples and individuals who are LGBTQI+. She offers training and supervision on qualifying level courses in the UK, specialist professional development opportunities and inclusion training for therapy, media and corporate organisations across Europe and the UK.
Inhabiting the world as a white, queer, antipodean she has been an advocate for putting queer lives at the center of knowledge-making for more than 20 years. Initially qualifying as a Psychologist in Australia, she has experience in the gender and sexuality, dual diagnosis, HIV and sexual health, drug and alcohol use, and domestic violence sectors. She is passionate about social constructionist theory, systemic practice, and developing the tools we need to work from an intersectional perspective in therapy. Working with other professionals she enjoys moving beyond the binary notion of the personal and professional to explore use of self practices and reflexivity as sites for theoretical knowing.
