Emerson F. Rasera is a Professor of Psychology at the Institute of Psychology, Federal
University of Uberlândia, Brazil. He is the former President of the Brazilian Association of
Social Psychology, and former Editor of the Brazilian journals Psicologia & Sociedade
[Psychology & Society]
, and Gerais: Revista Interinstitucional de Psicologia [Gerais:
Interinstitutional Journal of Psychology]
.

He has been a Taos Associate since 2009, where he is a co-founder and former member of The
Taos Institute Latin America Council (TILAC) (2014/2017), a 2011 Taos Associate Grant
(TAG), and a 2022 Outstanding Contribution Awards recipient. Working together with other Associates, he co-edited two books: Construccionismo Social en acción: Prácticas inspiradoras en diferentes contextos [Social construction in action: inspiring practices from different contexts] (with K.
Taverniers & O. Vilches-Álvarez, 2017) and The SAGE Handbook of Social Constructionist
Practice (with S. McNamee, M. Gergen & C. Camargo-Borges, 2020).

His work is focused on social constructionist contributions to psychological practices, especially
in health care, community work, and issues of sexual diversity. His most recent books are
Practicing Therapy as Social Construction (with S. McNamee & P. Martins, 2023) and Diálogos
sobre Construcionismo Social [Dialogues on Social Construction]
(with M. Cordeiro, F. Lopes
& J. Brigagão, 2023).
