Benjamín Cortés Morales was born in Managua, Nicaragua, and now he resides in Salamanca, Spain. His is a registered as a Psychiatry and Psychotherapist by Official Medical School of Salamanca and certified as Family Therapist by Spanish Federation of Family Therapy Associations. He is a Member of the Spanish Association of Private Psychiatry, of the Spanish Association of Narrative Therapy and The Castellano Leonesa Association of Family Therapy.

He has a private practice in Salamanca and is invited to lecture conferences to residents in psychiatrist and psychology in Clinical Hospital of Salamanca about Psychotherapy in general, Family Therapy, Clinical Systemic Approaches and Ericksonian Hypnosis; he also is invited every year to lecture conferences in Family Therapy to student in the University of Salamanca.

He has experience as Psychiatrist with inpatient and outpatient assistance, Family and Individual Psychotherapy. He earned of Psychiatrist in the Clinical Hospital of Salamanca (2012); a Master Degree in Systemic Therapy at Pontifical University of Salamanca (2007); a Residency in Brief Family Therapy at Mental Research Institute of Palo Alto, California (2011); a Professional Course in Ericksonian and Classical Hypnosis, by The Spanish Association of Classical and Ericksonian Hypnosis (2014); a Master Degree in Clinical and Health Management in Mental Health at University Pablo de Olavide (2015); a Diploma of expert in Bipolar Disorder at University of Barcelona (2016); and he is currently studying the Master in Narrative Therapy at Extremadura University (course 2017-2018). Benjamin’s approach to psychotherapy is markedly integrative about the systemic and ericksoninan approaches and narrative practices.

He is interested in how the people change in therapy, the outcome research in psychotherapy with quantitative and qualitative methods, spirituality and psychotherapy and the use of narratives practices in many contexts. He has published articles in scientific journals, like Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, European Archives of Psychiatry and Clinical Neuroscience, Journal of the Spanish Association of Neuropsychiatry and in the Nicaraguan Journal of Psychiatry.

He was participated in congress presenting some works as “Psychotherapeutic Interventions in a Psychiatric Consultation.” (National Congress of Private Psychiatry, 2017); “Drop-out in Psychotherapy: empirical findings” (XXV Meeting of the Castellano Leonesa Association of Psychiatry, 2010); “What makes for good outcomes in solution-focused brief therapy? A follow-up study” (European Brief Therapy Association, 2007).
