Tushanna Price is an Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom veteran, who served as a Non-commissioned Officer under H.R McMaster as he led the 3 rd Armored Cavalry Regiment into Northern Iraq in 2005. As suicide and domestic violence rates of soldiers returning from combat continued to rise, she was selected for a special duty assignment as a Family and Domestic Violence Advocate. Her position was put into place as a joint Army effort to provide community outreach, empower and support the readiness and well-being of soldiers and their families, civilian employees, and retirees.

Tushanna is currently practicing as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, both in private practice as well as at The Houston Galveston Institute. Her Ph.D. research interests are in the uses of collaborative-dialogic practices with Blacks, especially surrounding issues such as racism, social injustice, and racial healing. Tushanna’s additional research interest is in the use of collaborative dialogical practices with veterans, with a focus on ways of offering veterans a more inclusive voice in the health care and mental health systems. Tushanna facilitates groups and healing circles, surrounding racism, and life challenges of veterans.

Tushanna offers life coaching and mentoring, to help inspire women of color to find their voice and vision. As the mother of a young son with autism, she advocates for the rights and humane treatment of children who have autism and their families.

Tushanna completed the International Certificate in Collaborative Practices (ICCP) program through the Houston Galveston Institute (HGI) in 2019. She is currently participating in the ICCP Train the Trainer Program, with the hopes of training and supervising clinicians and educators in collaborative dialogic practices. Tushanna Attended the Army Logistics Academy, where she graduated from the Army Primary, Basic, and Senior leadership courses. As a result of her exemplary military performance, she was selected to be an Army Logistics instructor. Tushanna earned a B.S. in Psychology and Management from Excelsior College, in Albany New York. She went on to obtain a M.A, in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University. She is currently a doctoral student at Walden University, majoring in Clinical Psychology.

Tushanna Price is an aspiring author who enjoys writing poetry. She also enjoys spending quiet time with her family at their home in Texas.
