Jeremy Schumacher is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. Jeremy has expertise in couples counseling, religious trauma, and sports performance. While Jeremy spent much of his career in private practice, he has also worked in higher education as an instructor, a successful NCAA volleyball coach, and as the Director of Student Athlete Mental Wellness for the largest D-III athletics department in the country. He currently is back in private practice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as the owner and operator of Wellness with Jer.

Jeremy completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Cultural Studies. For graduate school, Jeremy attended Marquette University where he attained a Masters in Counseling Psychology. Jeremy received his license in Marriage & Family Therapy after completing his post-graduate work at the Family Therapy Training Institute. Jeremy has given local and national talks on topics related to healthy boundaries, neurodivergence, team-building, and religious trauma. He is an advocate for neurodivergence equality, LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, and works to destigmatize seeking help for mental health. He is active in multiple online communities working to normalize therapy, and is the host of the Your Therapist Needs Therapy podcast.

Outside of work, Jeremy spends time with his wife and two boys. They love spending time outdoors, especially paddle boarding on the many beautiful bodies of water in the Midwest. Jeremy is passionate about working with his rescue dogs, and has been known to have strong opinions about music, coffee, and the psychology of superheroes.
