Diego Romaioli, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Social Psychology at the Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education, and Applied Psychology (FISPPA) and a psychotherapist at the SCUP Center of the University of Padova, Italy.

Grounded in social constructionist and relational perspectives, his teaching and research focus on how knowledge, identity, and social realities are collaboratively shaped. Within the School of Psychology and the School of Human and Social Sciences at the University of Padua, he teaches Qualitative Psychology, Social Construction of Knowledge, and Social Psychology.

Diego serves as the Director of two innovative University Master’s programs: Transformative Dialogue, which centers on narrative, appreciative, and collaborative practices in professional contexts, and Contemplative Studies, exploring ancient and contemporary meditative practices.

His professional journey reflects a deep commitment to translating constructionist ideas into practice. He has extensive experience as a therapist, consultant, and supervisor in private practice, as a trainer for post-graduate schools of psychotherapy, and has previously served as a court-appointed expert witness for the Law Courts of Brescia.

As a researcher, Diego specializes in qualitative methodologies, exploring the fluid nature of the self and the relational processes that generate human experience. His research interests include multiplicity in self-construction, motivated irrationality, ageism, prosocial behaviors, models of change in psychotherapy, and generative, transformative inquiries. 

He is the author of numerous scientific publications aimed at advancing social constructionist theory and methods, while his research focuses on co-constructing counter-narratives to dominant, oppressive discourses.
