She is known for bringing vision, clarity of purpose, and innovation to all her work, which encompasses the following:

  • Organizational assessment and design
  • Whole System Strategic Engagement and Summits

  • Customized Studio Workshops and Programs on Appreciative Inquiry, Collaboration & Collective Intelligence

TRAINING
She has offered state-of-the-art training around the world for the past fifteen years on strength-based approaches and has now trained thousands of people in the foundations of working with sustainable collaboration, collective intelligence, and Appreciative Inquiry [AI]. She trained with David Cooperrider, AI’s originator, in Case Western Reserve University’s yearlong Global Excellence in Management (GEM) program, gaining certification in Global Change and Social Innovation. She is also a certified trainer for Barretts Values Centre’s values assessment tools. In 2012, she launched a new program on Leadership Literacies for the 21st century, now being offered as studio workshops and keynotes.

She has designed customized training programs for a variety of academic and corporate environments, including the Australian Institute of Management—University of Western Australia Business School Alliance, Cap Gemini Accelerated Solutions Environments, McKinsey Consulting, University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill, and Lee Institute. In addition, she had four time served as guest editor for the AI Practitioner, published in the UK.

CONSULTING:
Building on years of experience practicing the deep principles of Appreciative Inquiry, along with other large system change methods, new developments in positive psychology, and values-based assessment, Shared Sun Studio has evolved uniquely effective ways of approaching organizational and community health. Recent clients include Lutheran World Relief, Baltimore, MD; Dominicans of Sinsinawa, Sinsinawa, WI; InfoVista, Paris, FR.

Her educational background also includes an undergraduate BS/BA in psychology and philosophy from North Carolina State University, an MA from the University of Miami in International Relations, and an MA in Wisdom Studies from Wisdom University.

LEADERSHIP:
The future is not what it used to be. Years of work across the spectrum of organizations has given Sallie a unique perspective on what it takes for leaders to grow successful organizations in a complex and volatile time. She has initiated and introduced new models for whole system collaboration and consent decision-making, as well as studying the elements of organizational governance that give companies the flexibility and engagement practices so necessary to deal with constant change and rapid-fire technological advances. Using coaching, tailored workshop and webinars, Sallie folds the new literacies she has encountered into all her work.

A native of the Asheville, NC, in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Sallie spent six years living in Latin America, giving her strong communication skills in both Spanish and English. She has also lived in Sydney, Miami, and New York, but once again has Asheville as her base.
