Taos Institute Publications

The Taos Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of social constructionist theory and practice for purposes of world benefit. Constructionist theory and practice locate the source of meaning, value, and action in communicative relations among people. Our major investment is in fostering relational processes that can enhance the welfare of people and the world in which they live.

Taos Institute Publications offers contributions to cutting-edge theory and practice in social construction. Our books are designed for scholars, practitioners, students, and the openly curious public.

Over 3 decades, Taos Institute Publications has published print books in three categories:

  • The Focus Book Series featuring brief introductions and overviews that illuminate theories, concepts, and useful practices.
  • The Tempo Book Series dedicated to contemporary practices over a wide range of fields of interest to the general public and to practitioners.
  • The Books for Professionals Series providing in-depth and fully developed offerings devoted to both theoretical issues and relational practices.

As of 2026, these books are no longer sold in print and are freely available as PDF downloads in the WorldShare Book Series—now offering more than 110 titles in 15 languages.
